It looks like Alex Karev is about to lose his medical license. During the promo for “Grey’s Anatomy” Season 13, episode 22, he’s seen opting for surgery for a child as it’s the only way to get rid of a growing tumor. The problem is the parents don’t want this course of action. Usually it would be up to the parents, but Alex has always been one to advocate for the children.
This won’t be the first time that he puts the life of a child before his career. He almost missed all his boards in his final year of residency to be with a mother, as she held her dying premature boy.
He has also stood up to numerous parents to make sure their children got the medical care they needed.
Will Alex say goodbye to Grey Sloan Memorial?
“Grey’s Anatomy” fans will definitely not be happy with the current trailer. In the first few episodes of the season, Alex’s career was on the line. He had been demoted to the clinic while his trial went ahead after he assaulted Andrew Deluca. A change of heart by Deluca helped save Alex before he lost his medical license and went to jail.
Fans don’t want to see Alex leave the show. Losing his medical license would arguably give him no reason to stick around. However, it is possible that the trailer is just making it look worse than the episode will really turn out, with some excellent clip management, encouraging Alex fans to tune in at 8 p.m.
sharp on Thursday.
Eliza is in the episode and doesn’t like Alex’s course of action. This could turn around to her supporting him, as she won’t want to lose another child. The last one was hard enough for her.
Stephanie and Ben make career decisions
It should be time for the current residents to start making their decisions for the future.
They should be about to take their boards. It certainly looks like they are at this point, as this week will see Stephanie and Ben make some decisions that will affect their careers. Jo would likely be included if actress Camilla Luddington wasn’t still on maternity leave.
“Grey’s Anatomy” fans know that the actress who plays Stephanie, Jerrika Hinton, is leaving the show at the end of the season.
Could she decide to take a job elsewhere in the country? There are theories that she will die in the season 13 finale.
In another part of the hospital, April and Deluca will deal with another patient. This patient finds out he/she has a giant inoperable tumor, which may link to the young boy who has purposely come to the hospital to operate on his against his parents' wishes.
There are just a handful of episodes of “Grey’s Anatomy” season 13 left. Episode 22 airs on Thursday at 8 p.m. on ABC.
