Neil Gaiman's classic novel "American Gods," has been transformed into a TV series and has started airing its first season episode last April 30. The new series introduced a fresh show and was well received by viewers. Its intelligent and creative way of presenting sex and violence, paired with crafty storytelling skills captivated the viewers all over the globe. While fans are panting for the next episode's airdate, a great news was recently released for the show.
Season 2 renewal
In the midst of show cancellations due to slumping ratings, "American Gods" season 2 was given the green light.
According to Starz programming president Carmi Zlotnik, the company is excited for the second season of the TV series. She added that Neil Gaiman, Bryan Fuller, and Michael Green has structurally, narratively, and graphically transformed the television art form. She added that these artists will push forward in creating the worlds and the wars of the gods.
Craig Cegielski, FreemandleMedia North America CEO is all praises about the show. He was quoted saying that the series is an ambitious story created out of belief. He said that the showrunners and Gaiman himself was able to spark the conversation with the use of cinematic spell and was superbly presented by a distinct set of actors.
What to expect from the second season
The official number of episodes for the next season is not yet disclosed. There are speculations, however, that most likely it will have more episodes than the first season to cover the book completely. Also, "American Gods" is season 2 is expected to air in the middle of 2018. Fans can expect more drama, sex, and violence in the upcoming season.
"American Gods" features the journey of an ancient god Mr. Wednesday portrayed by Ian McShane and his human bodyguard, Shadow portrayed by Ricky Whittle. The pair will explore the country in an attempt to inform the ancient gods of the impending conflict with the new set of gods. The first season of the widely popular TV series is scheduled to end on June 18.
The series cast Crispin Glover, Bruce Langley, Yetide Badaki, and Emily Browning. Season 1 actors include Omid Abtahi, Orlando Jones, Demore Barnes, Chris Obi, and Jonathan Tucker. Corbin Bernsen, Kristin Chenoweth, Peter Stormare, Gillian Anderson, Cloris Leachman, Mousa Kraish also stars in the series.
