Hollywood confirms that dozens of monster movies are in the works. This means we cannot call 2017 a year of reboots, remakes, and sequels. From "Frankenstein" to "Godzilla," several horror movies are set to release this year. We can easily assume that “It Comes at Night,” “Phoenix Forgotten,” and “The Dark Tower” will make us forget about “Jurassic Park” and other blockbusters.

1 - ‘It Comes at Night.'

It Comes at Night” is scheduled to be released on August 25, 2017. This is one of the most anticipated movies of the year. A24, a company behind “The Witch and Green Room,” is currently busy with the promotion and marketing of this film. Trey Edward Shults has directed “It Comes at Night,” and Joel Edgerton has penned the script. The distribution company yesterday released a film poster, creating excitement among fans. The cast includes Riley Keough, Carmen Ejogo, Christopher Abbot, and Kelvin Harrison Jr.

2 - ‘Wish Upon.'

Joey King’s horror thriller “Wish Upon” will hit a theater near you this June.

Broad Green Pictures has recently shared several movie posters on social media. The story is about a young girl who wants to know the reason behind her mother’s death. She asks her father about the incident, but he refuses to say anything. Finally, the girl begins her journey to an unknown valley. Ki Hong Lee, Mitchell Slaggert, Shannon Purser, Sydney Park, and Kevin Hanchard play the lead role. You will see Sherilyn Fenn in a negative character. 3 - ‘Phoenix Forgotten.'

Phoenix Forgotten” is one of the most anticipated horror movies. It is a story of three teens who go into a desert shortly after they see mysterious lights in the sky.

Director Justin Barber has pushed the release date from April 21 to June 24. Promos and posters look incredible, so we are eagerly waiting for this movie. The film features Matt Biedel, Ana Dela Cruz, and Florence Hartigan.

4 - ‘The Dark Tower.'

The Dark Tower” has been delayed once again, but only for a few days. The movie will hit a theater near you in the first week of August. Sony has recently released the first teaser trailer for “The Dark Tower.” The studio says it will soon upload a few movie clips on the official YouTube channel. Nikolaj Arcel has penned its script, and the story is inspired by a novel of the same name. The plot of the movie is unconfirmed, but the teaser trailer gives glimpses of the character of Tom Taylor.

It also features Katheryn Winnick, Jackie Earle Haley, Fran Kranz, and Abbey Lee Kershaw.

5 - ‘Flatliners.'

It’s been several years since Sonny announced a remake of Joel Schumacher’s thriller “Flatliners.” The movie is in the post-production and will hit the theaters this November. The studio says Ellen Page has been separated from the cast, and now Diego Luna, Nina Dobrev, and Kiersey Clemons will play the lead roles. There are rumors that Beau Mirchoff and Charlotte McKinney have joined the cast, but nothing is confirmed.
