When Erika Jayne made her debut on "Dancing With The Stars" season 24 last month, she was criticized by judge Len Goodman, who claimed her salsa performance with partner Gleb Savchenko was a bit too raunchy for his liking. Now, weeks later, the "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" star is determined to stay true to herself and not take any one person's critiques too seriously.
During an appearance on the April 10 episode of "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," the reality star and singer spoke out about the comments made in regard to her sexually-charged antics on the dance floor and noted that she won't be changing anytime soon.
"I think we, as women, are held to a little bit of a different standard," Erika Jayne explained to the daytime talk show host, according to a report by AOL Entertainment.
Erika Jayne will remain Erika Jayne for the entirety of 'DWTS' season 24
"I don't think you should stop being yourself at all," she continued to Ellen Degeneres. "I'm Erika Jayne in the ballroom, and there [you] go."
As fans have seen on "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills," the television personality has been open with her at-home persona, Erika Girardi, who lives at home with husband Tom Girardi and son Tommy Zizzo, and her on-stage persona, Erika Jayne, who she's showcased on many occasions.
Erika Jayne will take on Madonna on tonight's episode of 'Dancing With the Stars'
Following a performance on the show last week, the reality star and her professional dance partner, Savchenko, received a score of 26 out of 40 and they weren't exactly thrilled. That said, they are excited to return to the ballroom tonight for a cha cha performance to Madonna's "Express Yourself."
While it's hard to say who will be in the audience showing their support for Erika during tonight's show, she has had plenty of support thus far.
As fans will recall, her "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" co-stars, Lisa Rinna (Rinna appeared during an earlier season of the ABC dancing competition) and Eileen Davidson, were in the audience on night one with Rinna's husband Harry Hamlin. As for her own husband, Tom Girardi has not yet been seen on the set of "Dancing With the Stars," nor has her son, Tommy Zizzo.
Lisa Vanderpump, who also appeared during an earlier season of the series, has also not been spotted.
To see more of Erika Jayne, Gleb Savchenko and her co-stars, tune in to new episodes of "Dancing With the Stars" season 24 on Monday nights at 8 p.m. on ABC.
