Episode one of Season 5 of "Prison Break" just aired on Fox. The 8 year hiatus was definitely worth the wait. If you watched the original series it will be able to keep up with the fast pace of the new episode. Strange things were happening from the very first. T-Bag Bagwell is mysteriously released from prison, even though he had been sentenced to life. When he collects his personal items he has an envelope, with a picture of Michael Scofield, who was presumed dead at the end of season 4.
The plot thickens
Bagwell takes the picture to Michael's half brother Lincoln Burrows, who is suspicious. Linc takes the info to his former sister-in-law Sara, who is now re-married. After he leaves, unknown assailants cause Linc's car to crash. An assassin shows up at Sara's and shoots her husband. Meanwhile a mysterious benefactor has secured a plastic surgeon to give T-Bag a prosthetic hand. Linc hooks up with C Note who has now joined the Muslim faith. They decide to go to Yemen after being told the man in the picture is in prison there. Along the way they run into Sucre who joins them. It's reminiscent of "The Wizard of Oz," where Dorothy meets the Scarecrow, Tin Man, and Cowardly Lion, and they all go to Oz, or in this case, Yemen.
Kudo's to the cast
The cast is to be applauded for returning to film season 5. After 8 years, their schedules may not have allowed them the choice. This has happened with other actors. Because of scheduling conflicts, Queen Latifah did not make it to the reunion of "Living Single." The Olsen twins were the only members of the original cast of "Full House" not to be a part of the new show "Fuller House." When fans desired to see a "Princes Diaries 3" royal wedding, Anne Hathaway said she would not make another movie. Fans are elated that the entire gang of "Prison Break" decided to come back. and it feels as if they never left. The stellar cast will give the fans a treat for these 9 episodes. Kudo's to "Prison Break" and season 5. You are off to a magnificent start.
