The "Prison Break" Season 5 premiere is just days away and fans can't wait to see Michael Schofield come back from the dead. The first of nine episodes will air on FOX starting at 9 p.m. ET on Tuesday, April 4 and let's get real here — we're all really, really excited to see Michael, Lincoln, Sara, T-Bag, C-Note, Sucre, and Kellerman return to our TV screens.
Hello, Michael, it's been awhile
If you haven't binge-watched the original "Prison Break" series, get cracking. There's still time to ignore everyone in your life and watch all 81 episodes before the Season 5 premiere.
The last episode (Season 4) aired on May 15, 2009, so it's been awhile since we've seen Michael and those soul-piercing blue eyes.
However, if you actually have to work or hang out with your family this weekend, don't worry – the folks at TV Guide state that you don't have to watch the first four seasons to enjoy Season 5.
New faces
Let's assume you've watched the entire series (over and over again, right?) and you know who the main characters are. Most of them will be back for the new season of "Prison Break" but there will be a few new faces as well.
There's a new man in Sara's life played by Mark Feuerstein and fans of the show will also see a new character played by British actor Augustus Prew and someone TV Guide says will be a new fan favorite — "a tough Yemeni activist" named Sheba, played by Inbar Lavi.
What's in store for 'Prison Break' fans?
The first episode will be a reunion of sorts, so don't expect to find out every detail about how Michael has returned from the dead. Or at least most of us were convinced he was a goner.
TV Guide reveals that most of the "Prison Break" Season 5 premiere will be spent on "catching up" with the characters who appeared in previous seasons and their reactions when they find out that Michael is alive.
However, don't expect a long recap of the past four seasons. The premiere is a brand new start for the series, not a flashback of the previous series.
