At the 2017 WonderCon in Anaheim, Kevin Alejandro, who plays the role of Dan Espinoza, talks about his character and the nearing ending of “Lucifer” Season 2. The 41-year-old star joined his fellow television series’ stars Lesley-Ann Brandt and Rachael Harris along with its executive producers Joe Henderson and Ildy Modrovich.
The “Southland” actor has a lot of high hopes for his role as, in fact; he wants it to stay being called Detective Douche. As the show is about to return after its midseason break, he teased what is in-store for the show's remaining six episodes.
Stepping up for himself and Lucifer
In an interview with Showbiz Junkies, Alejandro revealed that fans are about to see more of him and Lucifer (Tom Ellis) working together. In fact, he teased a scene where his character feels like he already had enough of what he is doing, and then he will suddenly realize that he is not Detective Douche but Daniel Espinoza.
This will be the time that he is going to step up for Lucifer and from here; it opens up a new world of standing for the Archangel. He also teased a lot teasing and joking happening in “Lucifer” Season 2 and viewers will witness how they all improve. As people used to see him like a doormat, he will now stand up for himself and fight the ones mocking him.
Dan, Chloe’s break up
Moreover, Alejandro also talked about his character’s relationship with Chloe (Lauren German). He revealed that the show’s writers are preparing for a lot of different things. Today, they are now in a whirlwind trying to finish “Lucifer” Season 2, but they also now preparing for the storylines and other details of the next chapter.
The “True Blood” star said that there is an advantage of having a third season as it will let them have proper time to deal with the show’s events on a slower phase. Thus, they don’t need to rush to reveal every surprising revelation they want. So, in the coming episodes, fans will see the reason why Dan and Chloe had to break up.
Nearing season two finale
In the upcoming “Lucifer” Season 2 finale, Alejandro revealed that it would blow off everyone’s socks and fans will see themselves in a different world, where they could not expect what is going to happen. The show will return on May 1 on Fox for its 14th episode titled “Candy Morningstar.”
The new episode will start two weeks after Chloe almost died. The time-jump will show Lucifer’s return, but this time he is with a new mystery woman named Candy (Lindsey Gort).
