The Predator” films haven't been a real critical success for some time now, but they have consistently delivered on some interesting instalments over the years. The latest films in the franchise certainly sounds like the most promising title so far, already having roped in the highly talented Shane Black for the directorial post. Black and some of the other creative minds behind this Film recently finalized the cast as well.

A healthy mix of talent

By just scrolling down the list of actors set to join the new Predator film, you can easily tell that the casting has Shane Black written all over it.

The director is known for mixing genres and inverting expectations with his films, which is why we can expect this film to be smart, funny, and full of exciting action set pieces.

The cast so far includes Boyd Holbrook from “Logan," Alfie Allen from “Game of Thrones," Keegan-Michael Key from “Key and Peele," Trevante Rhodes from “Moonlight," Olivia Munn from “X-Men: Apocalypse," young Jacob Tremblay from “Room,” and Edward James Olmos from “Battlestar Galactica." This star-studded line-up should be more than enough to bring down a handful of predators, and that's probably exactly what Shane Black also has in mind.

What to expect

There is no doubt that fans will have higher expectations from the new Predator film, thanks to the exciting cast on board.

Having Shane Black take the helm of this project is just the icing on the cake, and it pretty much seals the success of this film. The director has had a tremendous run over the past few years, and is also working on other fascinating projects in his spare time.

Although very little is known about the plot of the movie so far, we do know that this film is set to play out in a suburban setting, as opposed to being set in a completely alien planet like the last Predator film. No new trailers or posters have been released thus far, but we do know that the film is set to release on January 9, 2018. Stay tuned for more updates as they become available.
