Peta Murgatroyd and Maksim Chmerkovskiy welcomed a baby together in early January and just two months later, they returned to the ballroom for the 24th season of ABC's "Dancing With The Stars." Needless to say, being a new mom and starring on a very demanding series has presented challenges for them both and in a blog for People Magazine, Murgatroyd opened up about the juggling act.

"Being a mom to Shai has been the best thing that’s ever happened to me — it’s what makes me happiest," the dancer explained days ago. "I would spend every second of the day with him if I could," she added, "but I also think it’s good for me to get back to work."

Peta Murgatroyd began dating Maksim Chmerkovskiy in 2012

As fans of "Dancing With the Stars" may recall, Chmerkovskiy was involved in a romance with fellow dancer Karina Smirnoff years ago but after a nine-month engagement, the now-ex-couple called it quits in 2009.

Years later, in 2012, Chmerkovskiy began dating Murgatroyd, but after just 10 months of dating, they went their separate ways. Chmerkovskiy also dated model Kate Upton.

While Murgatroyd and Chmerkovskiy spent over a year apart, they ultimately reconciled in October 2014, and in December 2015, they became engaged during a live performance of "Sway: A Dance Trilogy" in Miami, Florida.

Peta Murgatroyd's fiance doesn't get up for late night feedings

On Monday, March 27, Chmerkovskiy appeared on "Access Hollywood Live" and during his interview with "Dancing with the Stars" partner Heather Morris, he admitted that he's been getting plenty of sleep each night. As he explained, there isn't much he can do when it comes to late night feedings, so Murgatroyd is on her own. That said, he did applaud his soon-to-be wife, who has been paired with "Bachelor" star Nick Viall for the 24th season of the show, for her dedication to her son and her hard work in the dance studio.
