"American Horror Story" fans assumed that Lady Gaga would return to the series for Season 7. Ryan Murphy revealed to TV Line that may not happen. Apparently, the entertainer is busy with other projects and may not have the time to dedicate to the FX series.
Lady Gaga may not come back to 'AHS'
Lady Gaga won a Golden Globe for her part in "American Horror Story: Hotel." Murphy considered her for the "american crime story" part of Donatella Versace but said that he never asked her because he knew that she didn't have time for the role.
According to the report, Gaga has had a busy year with the Superbowl Half Time performance, a world tour, and "A Star Is Born." Ryan explained that he would love to work with her, but never asked her because he knew she didn't have five months to dedicate to the role.

Murphy explained that he hopes that he can work with Lady Gaga in the future on "another project." Murphy seemed to indicate that the entertainer will not be returning to the FX series.
'American Crime Story' Casting Scoop
Ryan Murphy found his Donatella Versace --- Penelope Cruz. "American Crime Story" was renewed for two more seasons, both airing in 2018. The next two seasons will be about Versace's murder and Hurricane Katrina.

Cruz will play the fashion designer Gianni Versace's sister, Donatella.
Previously, Murphy announced Darren Criss signed on to play killer Andrew Cunanan, and Edgar Ramirez will portray Gianni.
Will Lady Gaga ever return to 'American Horror Story'?
Ryan isn't sure if she will have time to do any of his shows in the next few years. He added that she is extremely busy and the shooting schedule would never work with her world tour and other commitments.
Murphy hopes that at some point, she will have a break where she can dedicate her time to one of his series. Ryan added that he doesn't believe she will ever return to "AHS."
As for who is returning to the FX series in the fall, Evan Peters and Sarah Paulson will be starring in the show, which should premiere in September.
