Netflix's revival of “Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life” brings back smiles to the avid fans of the classic television series. However, as it only has four episodes, although it runs like a full-blown movie, some are still looking forward to seeing more chapters.
Now, fans all have the reason to celebrate as the entertainment company revealed the possibility of “Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life” Season 2.
In fact, the streaming service is now in early discussions with the show’s creators, Amy Sherman-Palladino and Dan Palladino.
Netflix to produce more episodes of the television series
In an interview with Press Association, Netflix chief content officer Ted Sarandos revealed that they are hoping to produce a second season of the comedy-drama television series. “They sure delivered, and people were really excited about more, and we have been talking to them about the possibility of that,” he told the British news agency.
The first season revival is, evidently, a huge success and fans certainly loved to see the show's return.
But, the revived television series ended with a major cliffhanger. Hence, viewers are craving to see more episodes that will answer all their hanging questions.
Possibilities of the second season
Sherman-Palladino earlier said that she has no plans to continue the story of “Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life,” but she is still open to the possibility. And it looks like it is not far from happening as the reunion of Lauren Graham as Lorelai and Alexis Bledel as Rory on TV is an instant hit.
In the first three days of the first episode alone, it raked in a whopping 5.99 million viewers in the 18-49 demographic in the U.S. On the other hand, the average views of the four episodes got 4.97 million in the said demo.
The revival picked up nine years after the original story ended and has four episodes that represent the country’s four seasons; the winter, spring, summer and fall. “Gilmore Girls” originally aired from 2000 to 2007. Netflix has been praised for the show’s revival for giving the creators the chance to continue its hanging story.
