With the reunion of “Buffy The Vampire Slayer” cast for its 20th anniversary, fans of the television series are now looking forward to the show’s revival. With a lot of TV series being rebooted today, it is not far that the favorite 90s classic will be treated the same.

However, it seems everyone is not fond of the idea. As 20 years have passed, and they used to tackle the angst of being a teenager struggling to live a normal life, they may find it hard to continue what they have started.

Stars idea for a reboot

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Alyson Hannigan, who played the role of Willow Rosenberg, believed that they should do a cartoon version of “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” instead.

James Marsters, who took the role of Spike, said that if the show’s creator joss whedon is up to do it, then they should, if not they wouldn’t.

Charisma Carpenter, who portrayed Cordelia Chase, deemed that if the revival would push through, fans would love it. “It would just make so many people happy,” she added. Of course, the show’s lead star Sarah Michelle Gellar also has her sentiments on the expected reboot.

“At a certain point, when things are magical, you don’t want to go back and ‘Godfather III’ it—right?” the 39-year-old “Cruel Intentions” star said. Although her statement might up the show’s fans, she's just honest that they might not live to their high expectations and disappoints them more.

Hence, Gellar also thinks that their fantasy television series can be adapted into comic or graphic novels as it still has a lot of worlds to live in.

The potential story revival

Meanwhile, Whedon also has an idea how “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” can be revived. In fact, he said that he already has a potential story. He explained that he is intentionally trying to move on from the original story and do something far different from it.

It also helps that the show’s cast still looks great that might be used in the potential show revival. If ever the reboot pushes through, it will definitely about the cast growing up. “If we did it with these guys, they’d be the age they are,” he added.
