The show "The Curse of Oak Island" has a huge fanbase and after four seasons, fans are wondering if it will be back again or not. The finale just aired this week, and everyone is waiting on the news of a renewal or a cancellation. Monsters and Critics was able to find out a few details about "The Curse of Oak Island" and what is coming next for this show. There is no confirmation either way yet, but there are a few things that make it look like a decision could be made before long.

What is the update on this reality series?

Series creator Kevin Burns actually shared that they don't know if the reality show will be back for another season or not.

He said, "Every year the brothers are very reluctant to agree to do any more. This was always a hard sell for them." He went on to explain that the Laginas aren't the type who seek fame. This makes it where they aren't begging to be on reality television all the time the way that others would be if their show might get canceled. Reality stars is not what they wanted to do, but it has worked out that way for them.

When they film "The Curse of Oak Island," they have to spend about four to five months away from their family. This is hard on anyone and is one reason that they might consider not doing another season of the show. They actually spent over $3 million on season four of the show, so it isn't like they are making big bucks.

The show "The Curse of Oak Island" on the History Channel has really good ratings plus a huge fan base. This hopefully will be enough for it to get renewed for another season. As of right now, the fans are just going to have to wait and see what happens. There is still a lot of story left to tell, and everyone wants to hear it.

If this show was to be canceled, they would have a lot of upset viewers doing everything they could to get it to come back once again.
