The Valentine's Day event has already begun and thousands of users of “Pokémon GO” are enjoying the "surprises" that Niantic has planned to celebrate "Friendship Day" around the world. Did you play again? If the answer is yes, you will have noticed that the pink pokémon (Chansey, Jigglypuff, Clefairy, Lickitung, and even Porygon), have taken control of the game. Niantic has once again amazed users of “Pokemon GO” with new updates and changes to a new event that will set the mood.
First, it was the Halloween event, then the Christmas and New Year's Eve, and it seems that this Valentine's Day will not be anything less, and we will have to return to the streets with our phones. The event is going on now, through February 15, and brings us the following advantages. Let’s see below.
Capturing and earning caramels
According to the new updates relayed by Ninatic, every time you capture a Pokémon in “Pokémon GO," you get twice as many candies. This is fundamental for Pokémon who need many candies to evolve, such as Gyarados that requires four hundred appreciated candies. Another surprise that Niantic has prepared for the Valentine's event is that users need to only walk half as much to get a candy from the pokémon that has been chosen as a companion.
This has been taken advantage of by many users of “Pokémon GO," who quickly changed their companion and chose other pokémon, like Togepi, that requires 5 kilometers to find a caramel. Like Togepi, there are other pokémon that you have to choose as companions during the Valentine's Day event that will last until the 15th of February. Here is the list of Pokémon that you should choose:
Togepi
Dratini
Chansey
Snorlax
Magikarp
Koffing
Grimer
Lapras
Note from Niantic
Trainers, throughout the celebration, you’ll notice that Chansey, Clefable, and many other adorable pink Pokémon will be encountered more frequently in the wild. Cleffa, Igglybuff, and Smoochum will also be more likely to hatch from eggs. And to help you paint your town pink this Valentine’s Day, Lure Modules will last for six hours for the entire duration of the event.
