The latest trailer for “Star Wars: The Last Jedi” was recently released and it was fantastic for everyone. Fans got super hyped with the clues the trailer gave to them, while the general public were excited of what was to come next. It was released on Oct. 9, and it was two minutes and a half long.
The trailer showcased a lot of scenes from the movie, and it was intense. It showed Kylo Ren (Adam Driver), Rey (Daisy Ridley), old man Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill), and more. It focused more on this trio, and it seemed to reveal the fate of Rey as a Jedi apprentice to Luke.
A clever way to misdirect fans
In the latest trailer, several scenes were revealed that seemed to look like they were all related and continuous. As a fan of the “Star Wars” franchise and a guy with common sense, this was not the case at all. It was cleverly made to misdirect fans that these characters would end up on the Dark Side, but the real story will be different.
In one particular scene of the trailer, Rey seemed to be in pain after Snoke uses his Force powers on her, which looked like he was torturing her. In the next scene, she was asking Kylo to guide her and after that he showed his hand. This scene would literally suggest that she will go to the Dark Side, but it could be the other way around.
That scene might be telling us that Kylo could be coming back to the good side. Perhaps he rescued Rey after getting tortured by Snoke. This is all assumptions for now, but this trailer really got me think a lot of predictions.
Scene could be a way to remove a character
In the new trailer of “Star Wars: The Last Jedi,” it showed a scene where Kylo and his men attacked Leia Organa’s ship.
He targeted its bridge and was about to push the trigger, but it was abruptly cut right there. In my opinion, this could be a way of removing the late Carrie Fisher’s character out of the story because she has unfortunately died.
Killing off Leia in a space battle would be a good reason, and it would fit in nicely without making plot holes or looking a bit off.
This could also develop the Kylo’s character because Snoke wants him to cut off his ties of the past. If he accomplishes this, he will become a true Dark Lord of the Sith just like his grandfather.
Strong Force powers
The “Star Wars: The Last Jedi” latest trailer also showed Rey’s tremendous raw Force powers, and it scared Luke. This could mean she could be a chosen one that can balance the Force again. Snoke also narrated that Kylo has strongpowers as well, but he needs to embrace the Dark Side first.
So far, the new trailer has intensely increased my hype to watch the movie this coming Dec. 15. I am totally excited for it and hopefully everything will be clear after I watch it.
