The commanders of the United States military have unequivocally condemned the Neo-Nazi circus that went on in Charlottesville on Saturday. Donald Trump is losing all but his most radical supporters. The ones that do still support him seem to be past, present, and/or future convicts. Apparently lacking the mental capacity to rise much further than that. It’s a wonder any of them are free.

The United States Marine Corp Oorah!

United States Marine Corps Commandant, General Robert Neller, tweeted Tuesday that there is, “No place for racial hatred in the USMC”, which he followed with, “Our core values of Honor, Courage, and Commitment frame the way Marines act and live.” He tweeted this not long after Trump went “off the rails” in a press conference in which he reiterated his first response to the tragedy, refusing to call out the hate groups for what they were, terrorist organizations, instead stating that both sides were to blame. Donald also said that he thought there were good and bad people on both sides of the line.

Yes, that is what he said. He thinks that there are Neo-Nazis that are “good people”. For him, it must be true, since he would not likely be president were it not for them.

The United States Navy Hooyah!

The United States Navy’s senior military officer had something to say on Saturday long before Trump got around to weakly condemning “both sides”. Admiral John Richardson, Chief of Naval Operations tweeted, “Events in Charlottesville unacceptable and mustn’t be tolerated @USNavy forever stands against intolerance and hatred.”

82nd Airborne Division Hooah!

An image, well circulated since Saturday's unfortunate events, of a Neo-Nazi wearing a cover with an 82nd airborne patch emblazoned on it, garnered an edged response from the actual 82nd Airborne Division. They tweeted, “Respectfully, anyone who thinks this man represents our culture, has never worn the maroon beret … and never will”, adding, “Our WWII Airborne forefathers jumped into Europe to defeat Nazism.

We know who we are. We know our legacy.”, and the account went on to add, “Anyone can purchase that hat. Valor is earned.”

My 2 cents

As a United States Navy veteran myself, all I can add to these noble statements is that I knew a few idiots like these racist Neo-Nazis while I served. Of course in a military situation, they would not be caught behaving anything like that. They were ignorant, under-educated, and racist and had not much future within the military. A minor annoyance, they seemed weak of will and intellect in my estimation. The kind I speak of are they that only appear to grow testicles when in a large like-minded crowd or hiding under white bed-sheets.

In the 90’s these fringe groups, weak in number, tried this same nonsense throughout the nation.

The news covered their paltry “crowds” of 20 to 30 people and everyone in the country just shook their heads. What’s different? Not much, folks. Their crowds are a little bigger. Trump is their president. Subsequently, they behave more belligerently and thus facilitated an opportunity for a mentally insane punk to commit murder. Make no mistake readers, they are still insignificant and always will be, as long as love, honor, and respect trumps hate and ignorance.
