Reportedly, U.S. President Donald Trump has now fired three individuals close to the Russian hack investigation. The President’s efforts seem highly suspicious since everyone investigating the case was abruptly dismissed from the panel of investigators. And now it seems there is a pattern with all three firing as they completely undermine the Congressional investigative process into his link to the Russian empire.
According to the Huffington Post, Senator Tammy Duckworth (D-ILL.) in an email stated that ex-Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation is the third person dismissed by the Trump White House.
Senator Duckworth added that Sally Yates, the former Acting Attorney General and Preet Bharara, the U.S. Attorney was also fired by the President. Yates and Bharara reportedly led an investigation on one of the White House Cabinet secretaries before they were let go.
Trump intimidates investigators probing Russian case
However, the unexpected firing of James Comey had left numerous lawmakers as well as senators on Capitol Hill seeking answers. It is reported that Republicans and Democrats alike have requested that a special prosecutor should be hired to launch an independent investigation. To get the Russia interference matter wrapped up, they are asking for someone that the American people will find trustworthy.
The Trump White House scandal has slowly evolved into a Hollywood movie, or perhaps, a Russian spy thriller. Reportedly, since his inauguration on January 20th, 2017, Donald Trump and his administration had intimidated everyone who has worked on his campaign investigation. Investigators were constantly pressured to limit their investigation and told to work quickly to wrap up the process.
It was also reported that several people, who were involved in the Russian probe were mysteriously fired without good reasons.
GOP and Democrats request a special investigation
Several sources reported that law enforcement officials had expressed shock at the length the President would go to interfere with the investigations of his campaign team.
Senators on Capitol Hill have also expressed concern while talking about Trump’s blatant disregard for due process. Reportedly, some officials said his behavior is not normal for a U.S. President, citing that he had worked to feverishly upend the legitimate inquiry into his association with Russia.
President Trump’s actions had forced all agencies involved in the Russian probe to readjust their investigation, especially if they tried to immunize themselves from the influence of the White House. However, while he may have fired the FBI Director in an effort to upend the election hack investigation.
In an effort to get to the bottom of the President's Russian scandal, over 100 lawmakers, including three Republicans have publicly called for a special investigative team. The new investigators will independently probe Donald Trump’s business dealings as well as his campaign team collusion with Russia in the recent general election.
