Ivanka Trump and her husband Jared Kushner, the king and queen of Washington DC's power political circles, are firmly ensconced in the White House. With Kushner running the American Office of Innovation, and Ivanka officially working for her father in the Oval Office, many have been left wondering at news today of #Stephen Bannon's departure from the high-ranking committee on the National Security Council.

Some theories are emerging that Ivanka is driving Trump's turning away from Bannon, to what some hope are a softer line on national policies.

After all it was Ivanka and Jared who tried to talk #Trump out of signing away a restrictive LGBT policy from the Obama period, which he then agreed to. And it was Bannon, according to sources in the White House, who forged the more hard-line policies such as the travel ban.

What deconstruction?

#Bannon has talked much about the 'deconstruction of the administrative state' and some have wondered at his potential to broker agreements. But with the chaos of the first 75 days of Trump, mistakes have clearly been made and someone has got to pay for them. The failure to repeal the #Affordable Care Act as well as the international diplomacy blunders have seen Trump's approval ratings plummet. Perhaps bringing on Ivanka will soften the public to Trump.
