It can be extremely difficult for young girls and boys to find their self-esteem in our current society. Throw that in with some harmful stereotypes, and you have a recipe for disaster. It's no secret that certain minorities are linked to certain physical features. As a result, they may have to deal with harassment and torment from other people. YouTuber and singer, Ayalla Karina has been the target of several harmful jokes because she's Jewish. In her video, she says, "When I was growing up, my dad was always very self-conscious about his nose.

He's Israeli and if you're Jewish pretty much anywhere, people will bring up your nose jokingly or they'll point it out".

Childhood

Ayalla (who is now 18) said she wanted surgery since she was a little girl. Her father has had a nose job and always encouraged her to as well. His own insecurities left Ayalla convinced that she'd be more attractive if she changed her nose. Growing up, the comments from others continued to make her feel self-conscious about her physical appearance. It wasn't until she got older up that she discovered why she didn't want plastic surgery anymore.

Change of heart

In her video, Ayalla explains that she wants her children to never feel insecure about their looks.

If she were to get a nose job or any other type of plastic surgery, she risks the chance of her potential children feeling the same way that she used to. She also wants her children to resemble her, which they might not if she were to alter her looks. Ayalla claims that she looks like her father, but only before he had his surgery. She says that she's proud that she looks like her mother and father, and has no desire to change that.

Though Ayalla no longer wants a nose job, she states that she doesn't judge any person who chooses plastic surgery. "People are always changing and evolving and if you want to change the way that you look, that's cool. I just don't think I could ever do it to myself." Allaya's vlog currently has 7,000 views.
