Ryan Lochte and his fiancée Kayla Rae Reid became first-time parents on Thursday, June 8 when they welcomed a son they named Caiden Zane Lochte. Their baby was born at 5:46 a.m. He weighed 7 lbs., 14 oz. and measured 22 inches long. The 12-time Olympic gold medalist and the model are excited. Lochte says he is so happy he cannot stop crying tears of joy. He added that dreams do come true.
Ryan and Kayla Rae's journey
Lochte proposed to his 25-year-old model girlfriend when he was a contestant on Season 23 of "Dancing with the Stars." He and partner Cheryl Burke finished in seventh place and were eliminated on Week 8 of the competition.
Cheryl tells the story of her letting Ryan leave rehearsal early to propose to Kayla Rae in October 2016. He took her on a helicopter ride over Los Angeles before proposing to her during a hilltop picnic high above Malibu.
The couple announced their pregnancy last December when Ryan kissed Kayla Rae's baby bump in an underwater photo and posted it on Instagram. Then in January, they shared they were expecting a boy.

It seems like Ryan Lochte, 32, is following his USA Swimming teammate Michael Phelps, who will be 32 years old on June 30. The two swimmers have some things in common. Phelps has 28 medals and Lochte is a 12-time Olympic medalist. There is no one in between the two swimmers.
This puts Lochte second behind Phelps after winning six gold, three silver, and three bronze medals.
Both Olympic medalists were involved in scandals during their careers. Phelps was suspended twice from USA Swimming for driving under the influence and speeding. He was once photographed at a party with a bong. That's when he lost a major Kellogg's sponsorship.
Lochte was involved in a scandal in 2016 following the Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He lost sponsorships. He went on "Dancing with the Stars" to help repair his image.
Ryan gives his baby's mother a lot of credit for standing by him following the Rio scandal. He said she proved during that time that she had what it takes for them to have a lasting marriage because she came through for him during his darkest time.
Both Phelps and Lochte had baby boys and admitted that becoming a father was a big part of their lives. Michael secretly married the mother of Boomer, Nicole Johnson, a month after the baby was born. The public found out about their marriage four months later. There has been no word about a wedding for Lochte and Reid.
