"Fortnite Battle Royale" players have received the v8.00 patch on Thursday, February 28. This update was huge, and it has brought Season 8 and a brand new Battle Pass. Thanks to the Overtime challenges from Season 7, many players have earned this Battle Pass for free, unlocking many new cosmetic items. Even though the update has been out for less than two days, Epic Games is already preparing another update and another weapon.
The "Fortnite Battle Royale" developer had released the Infantry Rifle short before Season 8 began. The rifle came out with the v7.40 content update, but unfortunately, many players don't consider it powerful enough.
This is one weapon that should probably be buffed, and it appears that the video game creator is going to do it very soon. A new rifle was found in the v8.00 patch files, and it won't be surprising if we get it next week.
Upgraded rifle coming to the popular game
The latest big patch has added a lot of new content to the popular video game, but Epic Games also used it to add new files to the game data. These files will eventually be released to live servers, and thanks to data miners, we can see new things that are waiting for us in the future. One of those things is the upgraded Infantry Rifle, and its stats look good.
The new rifle will come in two variants, Epic and Legendary. The Epic variant has the following stats:
- Damage: 47
- Magazine Size: 8
- Reload time: 2.185 seconds
- Environmental Damage: 47
These are the stats for the Legendary variant of the Infantry Rifle:
- Damage: 50
- Magazine Size: 8
- Reload time: 2.07 seconds
- Environmental Damage: 50
In comparison, Uncommon and Rare variants of the rifle deal 43 and 45 damage respectively, and their reload time is 2.4 and 2.3 seconds.
The Common variant only deals 41 damage. All of these guns have an 8-bullet magazine, and they use Medium Ammo. Considering the headshot multiplier on this gun, the Legendary variant of it would be capable of taking an enemy without a shield with only one hit.
Release date
We can expect Epic Games to release the v8.00 content update next week, either on Tuesday or Thursday.
Considering that the patch was released on Thursday, the content update will most likely come out on March 7. Since it's just a content update, there will be no need for a client update nor will there be any server downtime. The new rifle could come with it since many players do not use its current variants.
