Season 8 of "Fortnite Battle Royale" is just around the corner and Epic Games has already released a couple of teasers for it. Players have only two more days to complete the Season 7 Battle Pass as the eighth season starts on Thursday, February 28. Players are expecting the upcoming season to be great, and according to the leaked and revealed things, we believe that it has the potential to be amazing.
It is important to note that the "Fortnite" developer hasn't revealed many information about the next season. However, the Reddit AMA from February 22 has made the community very excited as developers revealed some changes that will come with the next huge update.
Besides that, players will get another big change to the in-game island, and one new location has been already leaked!
New location coming to Fortnite
Season 7 has brought a lot of different map changes to "Fortnite Battle Royale." The biggest change happened in the southwestern corner of the island where the giant iceberg appeared. The iceberg has brought winter, along with three new locations. Happy Hamlet, Frosty Flights, and Polar Peak have been added to this region, with the last place being very important for the events of the season. The Ice King event happened at Polar Peak, and this is also where the Prisoner, the special Battle Pass skin originated from. This place is also infamous for the Infinity Blade and its short-lived history in the game.
The upcoming season will bring more changes to the map. Epic Games has started preparing players for Season 8 with a serious of earthquakes on the in-game island, and the area around Wailing Woods seems to be rotting. Many players believe there will be a volcano or underground areas in the next season, but the game developer hasn't confirmed anything yet.
However, one location on the new map has been accidentally leaked by Sprayground. Epic Games has teamed up with Sprayground to make some "Fortnite Battle Royale" merchandise, and the "Fortnite Shark Royale" backpack revealed the new location. "The ONLY Official Fortnite backpack in our Leatherette fabric. Depicting our favorite Fortnite skins running from the storm across Sharky Shrubs," was the original description of this item.
However, the website changed it shortly after the item was released, removing the part about Sharky Shrubs.
Map changes
Sharky Shrubs definitely fits the Season 8 theme, which will most likely be about pirates. However, the game developer may decide to rename it to something else after this accidental leak. We will find out more information this Thursday when the update comes out!
