Epic Games recently released the v8.00 patch, which has added Season 8 to "Fortnite Battle Royale." The season has once again brought some big changes to the in-game island and gameplay, and a few items have been removed from the popular video game. Not even a week later, the video game developer has another update ready, and this update will address some bugs players have been complaining about, and will bring many audio improvements.
Audio has been drastically changed for the eighth season of "Fortnite Battle Royale." Unfortunately, there are some issues with new video files, and many players have reported problems with enemy footsteps.
Additionally, the video game creator has changed the sound of the assault rifle, which will be slightly changed in the upcoming update.
Changes coming with the v8.01 patch
Shortly after the v8.00 patch came out, Epic Games addressed some major issues with the game. The developer has released a few smaller patches that have fixed some of those problems, but more fixes will come with the v8.01 update. The development team has posted a detailed explanation of the upcoming changes on Reddit, showing players what will be changed.
The sound of the standard assault rifle will be slightly modified in the v8.01 patch. According to the developers, the sound will be "more of a Blaaam versus a BLAAAM." In addition to this, the building audio will receive a change as well.
The building piece destruction sound will be louder when instigated by enemies, which should fix the problem with players not hearing when one of their building pieces gets destroyed by an enemy.
Footstep audio, which has been a major issue for the past few days, will be fixed as well. "Footstep audio blends in the above/below layers, rather than abruptly switching between them," is what the developer posted on Reddit.
Additionally, enemy footsteps will no longer be muffled if they have a clear line-of-sight on you. Finally, the Season 8 victory umbrella will have its audio lowered in the update.
The patch release
The v8.01 patch for "Fortnite Battle Royale" will be released on Wednesday, March 6, at 4 AM ET. Epic Games will release the treasure digging mechanic for the game, which should make things much more interesting. It appears there will be special chests with improved loot at some locations on the map, and if this is the case, these locations could be hot landing zones!
