Airplanes have been the biggest addition in season 7 of "Fortnite Battle Royale." Unlike ziplines, which were also added this season, airplanes give players more than just transportation across the in-game island. They are equipped with a turret that deals 40 base damage per shot, and they can easily destroy any structures when boosted. This vehicle has caused a lot of controversy and a lot of players wanted Epic Games to completely remove them from the game.
However, the game developer has decided to nerf airplanes instead, and the latest update has brought some drastic changes.
While most of the community agrees that airplanes, in their original state were overpowered, the latest nerfs may be a bit too much. This vehicle will no longer be very viable and considering that it is very loud, many players will choose not to use it at all.
Big X-4 Stormwing nerfs
Epic Games has tweaked X-4 Stormwings with the last few updates, trying to make them balanced. There have been numerous changes to these vehicles, even though they have been out for only a few weeks. The latest changes have made airplanes much more vulnerable and their turrets have also been nerfed.
- X-4 Stormwing adjustments:
- The knockback a player receives after being hit by a Stormwing has been decreased by 70%.
- Damage done to the Stormwing from colliding with structures has been increased by 50%.
- Impact damage reduction while boosting through structures reduced from 50% to 25%
- Increased the spread of the Stormwing machine gun by 75%.
- Stormwing spawn chance has been decreased to 80% from 100%.
Additionally, the X-4 Stormwing is no longer able to fly above the max build limit, which will make it harder for players to destroy some structures and avoid enemy fire.
More update changes
The "Fortnite Battle Royale" developer has made a few more big changes to the popular video game. The Suppressed Sniper Rifle has been added to the game, while the Six Shooter has been vaulted. Gray, green, and blue variants of the Burst Assault Rifle have also been vaulted, while Dual Pistols have been added back to the game.
Dynamite drop rate has been reduced by 40 percent, and just like airplanes, the Boom Box has also received some big nerfs. This anti-structure item will now have 400 health, instead of 600, and its duration has been shortened from 25 to 18 seconds. Furthermore, the drop rate of the item has been reduced by 33 percent
