"Fortnite Battle Royale" players have some big changes coming their way. Epic Games have done a great job keeping the popular game updated with weekly updated, and it appears they are preparing some updates that will completely change the way the game is played. The glider re-deployment change was the biggest change in recent weeks, and we can expect more similar updates to be released soon.

Epic Games have announced some big competitive tournaments for the next year. "Fortnite" players have already had a chance to participate in Summer Skirmish, Fall Skirmish, and in-game tournaments, but this is all just a beginning.

The video game developer is preparing some big things, and the upcoming changes will drastically affect both casual and competitive gameplay.

Material changes

The "Fortnite Battle Royale" developers have experimented with some big material changes in the last few months. However, it turns out that they are not completely satisfied with the current state of materials, which is why there will be more adjustments to this aspect of the game. Epic Games have been considering lowering a material cap for a while, and it appears that this will be implemented soon.

Reddit user Mackktastic has shared some interesting information from an Epic Games employee. The employee revealed that the material cap would be eventually implemented, but it will be first done as a test.

Considering that data miners have found information about a limited-time game mode with a material cap, we can expect the developer to do it this way. "Fortnite" players would be able to test the material cap through the LTM before it gets implemented to regular modes.

Keep in mind that Epic Games have done this with the Soaring 50's limited-time game mode.

In this mode, players were introduced to the glider re-deployment mechanic for the first time. A few weeks later, and the game developer had enabled this feature in every other mode. Initially, Epic Games had turned on this mechanic for only a week, but after getting a positive feedback from the community, they decided to make it permanent.

The material cap

The goal of the material cap is to limit turtling during the end-game. This has been a huge problem for "Fortnite Battle Royale" players, especially during tournaments. Many players believe that material cap should be at 500 instead of 999. This way, players would be forced to look for natural cover in certain situations, and it could make end-game gameplay much more interesting.
