Square Enix announced that they are hosting a special event for the sequel at this year's Tokyo Game Show event this weekend, and video game fans are excited to see and hear what they are going to present.

Square Enix also launched "FFXV: Pocket Edition HD" on the Nintendo Switch and fans can now buy it on their local video game stores or online.

The story of the sequel centers around Noctis and his friends on a journey to reclaim his kingdom from the Niflheim Empire and accept his rightful place amongst the Lucis Kings.

TGS 2018 appearance confirmed

According to Siliconera, Square Enix will host a "Final Fantasy XV Special Stage" at the Tokyo Game Show event on September 23 at 11:45 am to 12:15 PM JST. It will be held at the event's Twitch booth and video game fans can watch on both on stage or at their Twitch channels.

While Square Enix did not reveal what kind of new details they are going to present, video game fans are speculating that they will reveal the new DLC character stories for Ardyn Izunia, Lunafreya Nox Fleuret, Aranea Highwind, and Noctis.

The previous DLC stories were focused on Noctis's friends Gladiolus, Prompto, and Ignis. The DLCs also featured their individual move sets for a different gameplay field to challenge players on doing quests. The new stories will feature Ardyn's mysterious past, Aranea's worst day ever, Luna's fate after her death, and the aftermath of Noctis's journey in the main story.

In addition, Square Enix will also release new content for the game's online mode, "Comrades." The sequel has been one of the most successful titles in the RPG franchise and has expanded its reach beyond its expectations such as having an animated movie and mini-series to a Windows and Royal Editions.
