The latest updates for "Final Fantasy XV" reveal four new DLC stories for characters Noctis Lucis Caelum, Lunafreya Nox Fleuret, Aranea Highwind, and Ardyn Izunia. Square Enix made the official announcement during the PAX 2018 event and these new stories will feature more broad details about each character's motivation in the main conflict and the aftermath of the story. The game publisher already released the first batch of DLC episodes focusing on Noctis's friends Ignis, Prompto, and Gladiolus.
There is also a new collaboration between "FFXV" and the third "Tombe Raider" reboot video game, "Shadow of Tomb Raider."
New DLC episodes coming soon
According to Square Enix, the four new DLC stories will provide new chapters on the lives of the four mentioned characters in the main story.
The first episode is called "The Conflict of the Sage" and it will feature Ardyn's history and hatred with the Astrals and Lucis family before the events of "FFXV." Video game fans have been requesting for an episode about Ardyn due to his popularity in the sequel.
The second episode is called "The Beginning of the End" and it is focused on the NPC support character, Aranea during the last days of the empire. Square Enix stated that it more of a side-story than a full episode, and it is described as her "worst day ever."
The third DLC is called "The Choice of Freedom" and it will feature Luna's fate after her death in the main story. Game director Hajime Tabata wanted to feature the latter in future DLC plans for the sequel and it looks like the fans will get their wish.
Lastly, the final episode is called "The Final Strike" and it centers on Noctis's "final battle" in the main story. Square Enix also announced additional new game updates such as Level Editor, PC mods, and Avatar creation for the single-player mode.
The Level Editor will allow players to add more content to the game such as dungeons, races, vehicles, and more.
The Avatar creation will allow players to create their own character and replace Noctis in the main story mode. The PC mods will be available via Steam Workshop.
