"Fortnite Battle Royale" is currently the most popular video game in the world with over 125 million players. When talking about the playerbase, it is important to note that this figure was released in early June this year. Since then, the game has come out on Nintendo Switch and multiple Android devices, so it is safe to say that the number is much higher now and probably exceeds 150 million.
Even though this mode is extremely popular, the PvE version of "Fortnite" also has a decent playerbase. "Fortnite: Save the World" is a co-operative game mode where players fight against zombie-like creatures and defend the world from them. According to the latest leak, this mode could be free in either August or September this year.
PvE mode to be free soon
Epic Games announced that "Fortnite's" PvE mode would be free at some point in 2018. This mode can currently be bought for $40, but there are also more expensive packages that include bonus in-game items. While the video game developer hasn't officially revealed the exact release date of the free mode, fans can expect it to come out in September.
FNBRLeaks, an account that is well known for leaking accurate "Fortnite" information on Twitter, posted a tweet stating that "Fortnite: Save the World" "MAY become free this season." Considering that the season ends before October, gamers can expect Epic Games to release it either before Season 6 or alongside it. The game developer usually puts the PvE mode on sale with every new season, but it could be completely free next month.
The Twitter page posted another tweet related to this, telling their followers to "Come back to this in a week or two." This tweet could mean that Epic Games will reveal some big news regarding "Fortnite: Save the World," so gamers may get an official announcement soon.
Keep in mind that the video game developer could decide to postpone the end of this season and push Season 6 to early October.
Patch 5.30 coming on August 23
"Fortnite Battle Royale" will get patch 5.30 on Thursday, August 23. The patch was originally supposed to be released on August 21, but Epic Games postponed it, most likely because of the special Road Trip skin. This skin requires players to finish all challenges in seven different weeks, and Week 7 challenges will come out on Friday, August 24.
The upcoming patch will also bring with it a new item, pump shotgun changes, new skins, and much more. It will be released at 4AM ET.
