PUBG Corporation recently issued a Dev Letter saying they vowed to do better in the next update for "PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds." That said, it may well seem that the developer is keeping that promise as alleged leaks of the game's upcoming update are now making the rounds.

Reddit user d0nsal posted a link leading to PUBG Vietnam's website as it contained what could be information about "PUBG's" Update 14.

If the leaks are anything to go by (patch notes translated by u/PascalMrHi2), the yet to be confirmed game tweak contains a hefty amount of improvements regarding the game's performance.

Grenades and weapons changes

Per the leaked information, the update will be increasing the damage and effective range of explosive grenades. It further explained that the absolute damage range will be buffed from 2.6 meters to 3.5 meters. Its typical damage will also be greatly increased as it is upped from 3.5 meters to 8.5 meters by the time the update goes live.

Grenade explosions will now affect players depending on its distance.

A direct effect will cause players to be stunned for about 5.5 seconds and at least a second at 20 meters. Meanwhile, the indirect impact will stun the player for three seconds. Other effects include:

  • Shocked players will now be covering their eyes.
  • Observers will also be shocked if he's also spectating other players with the effects of the pomegranate.
  • The puddle will explode leaving players stunned if it explodes behind them
  • Players cannot do some aim shots (ADS) while they are stunned.

Update 14 for PC will also usher in some weapon and item balances which include:

  • The reduction of M24's basic damage from 88 to 79
  • The reduction of SCAR-L's horizontal and vertical traction
  • M24 will be appearing around the world instead of being acquired inside a supply box
  • Returning both the Tactical stock and Cheek pad will be less effective as they will now speed up the shot

A new anti-cheat system is on the way

PUBG Corp is really taking hacking/cheating seriously as they also chipped in a new anti-hacking system in the next update.

If such intel fits in the bag, it looks like the developer will be adding a new anti-fraud system, though this feature will be first rolled out to "PUBG's" test servers. Per its brief description, players will see a popup display alongside two options. They can either click a so-called "Security Mode" for the said anti-cheat system to work or a "Compatibility Mode" if players feel that the other does not help. Watch a video about the game here:
