"Fortnite Battle Royale" players had a chance to refund their purchased items and get V-Bucks back with a self-refund feature. The feature was added a few days before Season 4 was released, but it was removed shortly after as the game developer found a bug with it. Many players were disappointed as they couldn't return their cosmetic items, and the worst thing was the fact that they could only return items which were not older than 30 days.
While "Fortnite Battle Royale" community hoped that Epic Games would add this feature back shortly after its removal, the game developer took much longer to fix the issue.
Fortunately, it seems that the self-refund feature bug has been fixed, and that the feature will be released in just a few more days! Players will finally be able to return their items, but some of their older purchases will no longer be eligible for a refund.
Self-refund coming back
It has been over a month since the refund feature has been removed from the game. While Epic Games still allows players to get a refund through their official website, the in-game feature allowed players to get a refund immediately and to spend their V-Bucks on another item. The self-refund system was limited to the items purchased within 30 days and players were given three refunds.
Considering that the feature hasn't been in "Fortnite Battle Royale" for a long time, many players missed the opportunity to refund their items.
However, they will get another chance as the self-refund feature will be released in the next big patch, and it seems this patch will come on June 1.
Reddit user TheTokenBanana89 showed the e-mail that came from Epic Games. The e-mail states that the feature is coming back on June 1. Additionally, Epic Games' Trello board has an update on this issue as well.
The board is used for bug tracking, and Epic Games announced that the self-refund feature bug will be "fixed in next release."
How to return items
To get a V-Bucks refund for cosmetic items, players will have to open the item shop and click on "Purchase History" in the bottom right corner. After that, it is necessary to select the item from the list and click on "Refund this item" button on the right side.
It is important to note that players cannot get a refund for all "Fortnite Battle Royale" items they paid for. Battle Pass, Battle Pass tiers, the Starter Pack and the Founder's Pack are not eligible for an in-game self-refund.
