Digital Extremes has officially released "Warframe's" open world expansion -- "plains of eidolon" for home consoles. Both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One fans can now traverse its vastness and see if they can take on the behemoth sentient beings that walk its land.

It's the console players' turn

Dubbed as "Warframe" Update 22, the developer posted it on their website's forum page and even took to Twitter to make it known. Just like the base title, "Plains of Eidolon" will be free to play as well.

Enter Gara

Per the forum post, players can look forward to Gara which is a Glass-themed Warframe.

This new biomechanical suit "manipulates glass to fracture the resolve of her enemies with four Abilities and a variety of new weapons, items, and customizations."

The developer also mentioned an overhauled Focus System for Operators to utilize concurrently with Warframes as they slug it out with Eidolons, new Mods, stances, and achievements. The new Focus rework has tweaked its cap from 100,000 to 250,000, not to mention that it is more combat-focused.

The Mag Pneuma Collection is also included in "POE's" console release.

Per the description, "Tennos can harness the magnetic force around them with the new Mag Pneuma Collection, including the lavish Mag Pneuma Skin, Maruta Tonfa Skin, and the Vasa Syandana."

New weapons

A new lineup of firepower and melee weapons was also rolled out in this update. A shotgun-type rifle known as Astilla is just one of them.

The new weapon shoots glass slugs and explodes on impact. The description added that this is Gara's weapon of choice. Another primary firearm – the Argonak – is a versatile rifle in both single fire and automatic modes.

Fusilai, on the other hand, is a secondary weapon which is basically a throwing knife that is made of glass.

This will silently lacerate enemies as this is also Gara's "signature throwing knife."

As for the new signature melee weapon, Volnus gets the job done. It's an agile and lightweight glass hammer that can easily smash any Grineer nearby. Another melee weapon – the Krohkur – is a hooked blade the gives its wielder critical hits provided they "are skilled enough to strike enemies with finesse."

A bit of advice though, especially to those who are new to the game, players might want to first check the bounties given out by Konzu who's located at the doorway of Cetus. The new missions are somewhat mandatory if players want to acquire Gara. Check out a video about "Warframe" here:
