A few days ago, Blizzard released a new major “Overwatch” Patch that brought in a good amount of changes. Things like the Junkertown map and the character reworks were finally added to the game after being on the Public Test Realm for three weeks. Now, the developers have released yet another update that adds some quality of life changes and fixes the Deathmatch map rotation in the Arcade mode. That said, VG247 has shared the new changes that are included in the latest “Overwatch” patch.
General Fixes
The credit Mercy receives whenever she resurrects a fallen ally has now been adjusted to fall in line with its new functionality.
This slightly adjusts how often she’ll be “on-fire” in the game, balancing her slightly.
Map rotation
Blizzard has adjusted the Deathmatch and Team Deathmatch maps, removing Hanamura, Horizon Lunar Colony, Volskaya Industries, and Temple of Anubis from the Arcade mode. However, you can still select the said maps in Custom Games.
UI updates
Blizzard has also made several adjustments to the spectator camera. This should help improve the overall viewing experience if you’re spectating other matches.
Bug fixes
The patch has also fixed several problems in the game, starting with a bug that prevented Genji and Mercy’s ultimate voice line from working if they had the Oni or Winged Victory skin equipped.
That aside, the update has also fixed an issue when sound effects would continuously repeat if you’re using a beam weapon to destroy Junkrat’s motorcycle in the Junkertown spawn room.
Latest changes
The Sept. 19 patch added a lot of new features to the game – notably the highly-anticipated Junkertown battlefield. This escort map is based in the Australian Outback and has a few more details hinting at Junkrat and Roadhog.
Here, attackers will be delivering a payload filled with gold and explosives to the Junker Queen’s room.
In addition to the other updates, the Mercy and D.Va changes have also been patched into the game after being tested on the Public Test Realm. D.Va’s Defense Matrix has been nerfed significantly in exchange for more offensive capabilities.
Not only can she now shoot while flying, but she's also gotten a new skill called Micro Missiles. Mercy, on the other hand, has a new ultimate ability that greatly amplifies her skills and grants her the ability to fly. Her Resurrect has now been bound as her second ability, only allowing her to bring back one fallen ally at a time. Those who want to play “Overwatch” can get a copy for the PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
