Gun Media announced that Friday the 13th: The Game will introduce Part IV Jason, a new map, and weather system to players soon. The game publisher recently released a short teaser trailer to confirm these DLC items are coming with the next update.

If the latest reports are any indication, the new Jason version will also come with the ghastly pig splitter weapon to kill off counselors in the game.

New weapon

The arsenal of weapons available for the current versions of Jason in “Friday the 13th: The Game” include machetes, axes, and some improvised spears. On the other hand, the newly announced part IV Jason will use an iconic murder weapon from a famous kitchen kill in “Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter” film.

This gory weapon is known as a pig splitter, a fairly large kitchen tool that will split the heads of the counselors’ skulls. This particular cut scene from the fourth horror movie showed Jason killing Crispin Glover using this weapon while Glover was searching for the corkscrew:

Apparently, this piece of information came from Slash N Cast who got an exclusive glimpse at the new weapon through Wes Keltner of Gun Media.

Check out the various angles of the said weapon in the video shared below.

Similar to other Jasons previously launched in the game, Part IV Jason will come with two special kills using the pig splitter. The exact details on these possible new kills are not revealed as of yet, however.

New map, weather system, kills

Meanwhile, IllFonic also offered a short preview of the Jarvis house as the brand new map that’s coming with the new Jason version. Since the next update is inspired by the fourth F13 movie, it is highly possible to see the horrifying head crushing shower scene as one of Jason’s unique kills.

The 33-second teaser clip also highlights rain as a weather system being added as a creepy environment in the game.

Fans can agree that things definitely look pretty exciting.

The game developer has not yet set an official release date for Part IV Jason and the new set of contents in the next update. But unlike the Spring Break 1984 clothing pack, this upcoming DLC will be launched as a free download to all the avid players of the well-received survival horror video game.

The Spring Break 1984 clothing pack will be out soon as the first ever paid DLC. It has a regular price at $3.99 but will be offered at $1.99 for a limited period of time.

"Friday the 13th: The Game" is currently available on Xbox One, PS4, and PC and its physical copies will be out in stores on Friday the 13th of October.
