It looks like the release of the much-awaited single-player mode for “Friday the 13th: The Game will be delayed if recent reports are any indication. Illfonic also announced a set of beach-themed DLC, a new playable Jason, multiple maps, two counselors, and more will be added in the game soon.
Earlier, the game developer told fans that the single-player mode will be ready by end of summer. But it seems that the release will be pushed back as the summer season is almost over and there is no word yet pertaining to the highly anticipated DLC.
So, a curious fan asked the development team on Twitter when will be the release date of the single-player content.
In reply to fan’s query, Illfonic wrote:
Single player is a work in progress. No official release date yet. We want to be satisfied before we unleash it! Please stay tuned!

Although the game developer did not explicitly mention about a delay, the tweet does send a signal that it might actually postpone the release beyond the summer schedule. However, it is noted that while Illfonic has not announced anything just yet, this remains a mere speculation at this time.
But here’s some good news instead. A host of new content will be added in “Friday the 13th: The Game” soon.
The freshly launched website for the game teased several additions such as a new playable Jason, multiple new maps, two counselors, and the Spring Break 1984-inspired clothing pack.
Playable Jason
The first major addition is, of course, the new playable Jason that will arrive with a specific and unique skill set but details are rather scarce at this point. Illfonic additionally confirmed that each of the current versions of Jason in the game will be getting new skills, too.
New maps
According to the game developer, it is currently developing multiple new maps for the game.
But one of these will be picked out of F13 movies and will be available much earlier than expected. There will also be two new counselors that will be added in the game and IllFonic teased that they could either be totally new characters or old ones from the movies.
New clothing pack
Lastly, gamers can customize the looks of their counselors with the new Spring Break 1984 clothing pack.
Priced at $4, this beach-themed DLC for “Friday the 13th: The Game” contains bikinis and swimsuits. It will be launched soon at 50% discount for a limited period.
Developed by IllFonic and published by Gun Media, "Friday the 13th: The Game" is available on Xbox One, PS4, and PC. Despite a rough launch in May, the game has already sold more than 1.8 million copies worldwide.
