Overwatch” has been gearing up for some major changes since Blizzard began announcing them last year. These additions to the first-person shooter will help fans stay engaged whilst trying to attract new players to the game. While the Summer Games 2017 may be coming to a close, many new things will be replacing it. Some fans might have already lost track of the upcoming stuff, let’s take a look at what Blizzard plans to deliver to their fans.

Deathmatch

Blizzard revealed this new mode a few weeks back as a new arcade mode. Previously, they were hesitant about including the mode in a team-based game, but the Arcade mode really allowed them to bring more flexible gameplay options.

In line with this, the Deathmatch will have two modes: Free-For-All and Team Deathmatch. The former puts you in a 1v7 situation wherein everyone will compete to earn 20 kills the fastest. Team Deathmatch, on the other hand, is the standard 6v6 “Overwatch” team fight where the target is trying to get 30 kills the fastest. However, other factors are now in play, like Mercy’s Resurrect, as this can take away from the opponent’s score. If you’re looking to show off your skills and play for a K/D ratio, watch out for this new “Overwatch” game mode.

New Maps

Blizzard has also made some new stages for the game – two in particular. Firstly, the Deathmatch mode is getting its own map called Château Guillard which is based in France.

Similarly, this map also links to the French sniper, Widowmaker, and hints about her past and what she’s currently planning in the lore. Château Guillard isn’t the only thing Blizzard has in store as they’re also delivering a new payload map called Junkertown which is based in the Australian Outbacks. This certain location also shows more about Junkrat and Roadhog’s past, so this is something to look forward to.

Hero balances

Ending off our list, we have the balance changes that mainly affect D.Va and Mercy. D.Va will be getting less defensive options, and instead, will compensate for this will more fire power. Not only can she use her weapons while flying, D.Va has also gotten a new ability called Micro Missiles which deal a good amount of damage.

Meanwhile, Mercy’s hide-and-rez tactic has now been changed as her ultimate ability is now her second skill. Now, her new ult gives her a major power boost and allows her to fly around the heal and multi-heal/damage boost. These changes should make her more team-oriented than simply waiting for her team to die.
