The “Overwatch” Summer Games 2017 is only a day away, and fans are hyped for all of the new content. Aside from the returning Lucioball, we’ll be getting tons of new cosmetic items ranging from skins, highlight intros, victory poses, and more! Similarly, we’ll also be able to unlock all of the content from last year, so you can finally get that Genji skin you’ve always wanted. In line with this, game director Jeff Kaplan has confirmed that a certain character will be getting a skin tomorrow for the event.
Sombra’s getting some love
Sombra fans have been waiting for the longest time in hopes that the hacker villain will finally get her first legendary event skin.
Released back in November 2016, Sombra got a few cosmetic items, but they’re all nothing compared to the amazing seasonal event skins like Blackwatch Genji or Witch Mercy. Luckily, it seems like this Talon member will finally be getting some love in the upcoming Summer Games 2017.
Game director Jeff Kaplan recently took to the official “Overwatch” forums to respond to a fan. Titled “Sombra SG2017,” the topic creator claimed that Sombra has yet to get a legendary skin. In line with this, Kaplan took the time to reply and hint that players should look at her Hero Gallery tomorrow. With that being said, Sombra mains can rejoice as their favorite character will probably be getting her first ever legendary event skin tomorrow.
Look forward to some other stuff
Sombra’s not the only one who’ll be getting some love as the game director also teased skins for Junkrat and Mercy during last week’s developer update. Blizzard has yet to reveal the other cosmetics for different characters, but it’s likely that there will be a few more. They usually upload trailers for the event as it launches, so we can get a good look at all of the new stuff then.
Fans can also look forward to the upcoming Competitive Lucioball game mode. It will come complete with a full set of placement matches and a special spray. Similarly, if you manage to work your way up to the top 500 players in your country, you’ll be rewarded with another special spray. With that being said, these are some good incentives to play the brawl and enjoy the upcoming event.
Take note that aside from the Rio de Janiero stage, we’ll also be getting a new Sydney Stadium in the map rotation. “Overwatch” is now playable on the PC, PS4, and Xbox One, and the Summer Games 201 will officially launch this August 8 for all platforms.
