“Overwatch” is without a doubt one of the most exciting shooter titles in recent memory. It offers a gameplay experience that no other game of its genre could, let alone the interesting roster of characters it has. Apparently though, not everyone knows how to handle themselves well in-game.
Just like any other game out there, “Overwatch” requires players to be skillful enough to win matches.
They do not necessarily have to be pros, but at least they know the important stuff. With that said, here are some tips and tricks that should help anyone struggling in playing Blizzard’s titular title.
Always pay attention to the audio
Believe it or not, this game is the kind that makes use of the audio every now and then. The developers of the title made sure that every character, regardless of size and power, will have his or her own distinguishable footsteps. Interestingly, there is a huge difference between an ally’s footsteps and an enemy’s footsteps. That is because the latter appears to be louder, especially when near an opponent.
This feature ultimately helps “Overwatch” characters determine the difference between an approaching enemy and ally. So, as much as possible, it is best to have the audio turned on or set on an acceptable volume level. It does not necessarily guarantee a win, but it sure does help in acquiring one.
Change heroes accordingly
Most players forget that each hero in “Overwatch” has his or how own counter, meaning that a character will also have someone that can fend him or her off. This is where players need to understand certain matches and adjust according to the enemy’s lineup. For instance, the opposing team has Genji on them: if this is the case, then it is better to utilize a hero like Winston to disable him.
The idea is to basically give the team in “Overwatch” an advantage. Unfortunately, some players prefer to play characters for their own sake, not minding the trouble it does to the team. Remember: the game is designed to be played as a team, not as a single player.
Use the ultimate properly
This is where things could get a bit of a stretch in “Overwatch.” Some players are just so excited that they tend to let go of their ultimates incorrectly. It is either way too early or late, allowing the enemy team to react accordingly. As a result, the skill is put into waste.
As much as possible, it is best to use the ultimate timely and in accordance with the other members’ ultimate. For instance, Hanzo’s “Dragonstrike” could work best with Zarya’s “Graviton Surge;” Genji’s “Dragonblade” could work best with Reinhardt’s “Earthshatter.” Clearly, the list could go on and on.
