After several troubling delays, finally, the big update for the Nintendo Switch version of ‘NBA Playgrounds’ is now available. Saber Interactive has officially started the release of patch 1.1.3. The latest update rolls in massive changes to the game including Online play, new characters, and tweaked shooting mechanics among others.
Online play
The most recent patch for the Nintendo Switch version of the classic arcade type basketball game is roughly 2 GB in size. It brings in one of the highly anticipated game features, the online multiplayer. With this, players will be able to compete in ranked matches to get the top spot on the game’s leaderboard.
The latest Challenge feature will allow players to directly challenge any player to a game in the in-game playground. To do this, the player just needs to acknowledge and agree to a particular code. After that, open the game’s online mode and change it to Challenges. After that, the player must enter the code and play against each other.
Tweaked shooting mechanics
Saber Interactive will also roll out a tweaked form of shooting mechanic to the game. There have been several changes in the entire shooting system of the game. It ranges from jump shots to dunks, to layups, and even to threes. The game developer has reworked on the game’s timing. A new meter is also added to the game. Moreover, the entire system is now clear.
The game developer decided to do these tweaks to address several players’ complaints.
New characters
The good news does not stop there, however. The game developer also releases 15 new playable characters in the game. Among the latest additions includes the bad boy Dennis Rodman aside from Isaiah Thomas. These new superstars can be unlocked by players regularly through the use of player packs.
These packs are achieved during tournaments of every time a player levels up.
Meanwhile, Saber Interactive said that the latest patch 1.1.3 is released to address the major concerns raised for the Nintendo Switch version of the game. According to the developer, this is their way of saying thank you for the warm reception of the players to the game.
While the update just went live today, players are now looking forward to the next update for the hybrid console.
