Sub-Zero is the newest character to arrive in 'Injustice 2' today, giving the roster a new fighter to deal with. He is best known for being a staple in the 'Mortal Kombat' series and is the second character (next to Red Hood) from the 'Fighter Pack 1' DLC.

The very creative director of NetherRealm Studios Ed Boon iterated that Sub-Zero's incarnation in 'Injustice 2' is unlike any other. True enough, the Cryomancer would don a new appearance, resembling the ice element he fondly uses. Here is everything about him in a nutshell.

The Cryomancer is here

According to Destructoid, the aforementioned fighter will be readily available to players who purchased either the game's deluxe version or the 'Fighter Pack 1' content. Sub-Zero is among the highly anticipated characters in the sequel, though he was not hyped by the studio at first. In fact, many doubted his arrival, though some were confident the developers would incarnate some fighters from the 'Mortal Kombat' franchise.

Boon explained in previous interviews that Sub-Zero's incarnation in 'Injustice 2' is the most unique in history. In fact, the new fighter would be showcasing a brand cloning ability, specifically developed for the sequel. As to what exactly this ability is, it remains a mystery until now.

But, with his confirmed arrival today, players would definitely see its beauty. Moreover, in the official trailer, he can be seen being able to craft various weapons using his ability, allowing him to wield a weapon at will. These alone make him an interesting addition to the game.

Another 'Mortal Kombat' fighter

There are rumors circulating online that another 'Mortal Kombat' fighter would be incarnated in 'Injustice 2'.

Unfortunately, it is not Sub-Zero's titular arch-nemesis Scorpion, however, this rumored fight is definitely off the charts. Well, it is no other than Raiden, the master of lightning. He is even said to be the next 'Mortal Kombat' fighter after Sub-Zero's addition, though this remains a total mystery. Interestingly, Boon himself has been teasing about the lightning-wielding character way before the Cyromancer was announced.

But since this remains unofficial, it is better for players to take it with a grain of salt.

It is worth noting that Sub-Zero's gear loadouts have already been activated a couple of days ago in 'Injustice 2'. It gave players a preview at the kind of cosmetic items he can wear in the game. The character's purpose in the game's lore is to seek self-redemption and, with Brainiac's plan to wreak havoc, he sees this as an opportunity to redeem himself.
