The 2018 NFL season is more than halfway over, and there are a handful of teams that aren't expected to make the playoffs. Those teams have to start planning for their future, including releasing players, making trades, signing free agents, and possibly drafting the next star into their franchise. Below is a look at the teams that currently hold the top five picks for the 2019 NFL Draft.
Oakland Raiders (1-8)
No team has performed worse than Oakland, right now, which is a true disappointment, considering the addition of new head coach Jon Gruden. They still have a decent quarterback in place, but will clearly need to figure out where to go from here. They'll also have two more first-round picks, thanks to trading away Khalil Mack to the Bears and Amari Cooper to the Cowboys.

San Francisco 49ers (2-8)
There had been high hopes for San Francisco in this latest season behind Jimmy Garoppolo. Unfortunately, he got hurt early in their campaign, and the rest is almost history. With just two wins, they're looking forward to adding some more talent. A mock draft via the Washington Post suggests they could opt for Ohio State defensive end Nick Bosa.

New York Giants (2-7)
Fans were expecting a lot more from this roster. They've got the talent, but unfortunately, their offensive line has been unable to offer Eli Manning help. Manning is on the tail end of his career. Their bright spots include last year's high pick, running back Saquon Barkley. In 2019, they may add a cornerback, such as Greedy Williams from LSU.

Arizona Cardinals (2-7)
The Cardinals were one of the teams in the draft order that took a quarterback prospect in last year's draft. Now, they can add a talented player to help protect their quarterback, Josh Rosen. The speculation is, that should Alabama true junior Jonah Williams declare for the draft, he could be Arizona's pick here.

New York Jets (3-7)
Yet another team that benefited from the rich quarterback class in 2018, is the New York Jets. They look like they'll be among the top five draft teams, right now. The Washington Post believes they'll go with cornerback DeAndre Baker from Georgia. He could add to the core that includes safeties Jamal Adams and Marcus Maye for the Jets.
