Buddy Murphy captures Cruiserweight title
Melbourne's own Buddy Murphy fought Cedric Alexander for the Cruiserweight title. The close saw Alexander hitting a Spanish Fly, followed by the Lumbar Check. From there, he connected on Murphy's Law to finish Alexander for the pinfall, and became the new Cruiserweight Champion. It made for the first-ever Australian star to capture a WWE singles title.

Daniel Bryan wins No. 1 contender match
Daniel Bryan battled the Miz for No. 1 contender status to a WWE title match. It was a super fast match at Super Showdown, though. Bryan collected a win in under two minutes. At one point, Bryan went for a running knee, but Miz cut him off with a knee of his own for a near fall. Miz argued with the referee over the count, and then tried to go for a Skull Crushing Finale. Bryan grabbed a quick rollup pinfall to become new No. 1 contender for AJ Styles' WWE title.
