ALDS 2018: Top 5 players in Game 2 of Indians vs Astros series

Houston was able to claim a 3-1 victory to create a 2-0 series lead so far.

Francisco Lindor - Indians

The Cleveland Indians managed to get on the board first in this pivotal game. Lindor delivered a solo home run in the third inning. That made it a 1-0 game early for the visitors, but, unfortunately, Lindor was the team's only RBI producer. The rest of the lineup was soon subdued by the pitching excellence of Gerrit Cole.

Marwin Gonzalez - Astros

Gonzalez was easily the player of the game in terms of batters. He had a 4-for-4 performance on the day, which included two of his team's RBIs. Those two RBIs helped put his team ahead in the sixth inning, which also gave Gerrit Cole the lead to work with before he left the mound. Thanks to Gonzalez, the Astros are now in a commanding 2-0 series lead.

Alex Bregman - Astros

For the second straight day, Alex Bregman knocked a home run out of the park for the Houston Astros. This time, it came with his team already ahead 2-1. Bregman added a bit of cushion to the lead, in the seventh inning, as he hit his second home run of the postseason. Now, his team is looking toward winning the series in three games.

Gerrit Cole - Astros

Cole delivered a solid pitching performance on the mound in Game 2. It may have been the best, so far, besides Clayton Kershaw's Dodgers game. In his mastery of the Indians, Cole worked seven innings and struck out 12 batters. He allowed just one hit and the one run to the opponents in that time, and picked up the Game 2 victory.

Ryan Pressly & Robert Osuna - Astros

While Cole was the main bullpen hero, Pressly and Osuna finished the job. Pressly came on to relieve Cole and recorded two outs. Osuna would come in to close things out, as he walked one Cleveland batter, before getting four outs and credit for the save.
