Barack Obama is busy writing his memoirs, as contracted by a leading publishing house, but at the back of his mind, is the welfare of Democrats. He wants them to put up a good fight in the 2020 elections and is conducting secret meetings with those who might challenge Donald Trump. Some potential candidates include Senator Bernie Sanders, Senator Elizabeth Warren, former Vice President Joe Biden, and former Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick.

Daily Mail UK reports that Obama has always been close to former Vice President Joe Biden. During the 2016 race, Obama promoted Hillary Clinton and hinted that Biden should not run. However, for the forthcoming race to the White House in 2020, the former president wants Biden to make the final decision

The strategy of Barack Obama

Barack Obama is a seasoned campaigner and is aware of probable pitfalls. He wants Democrats to give a tough fight to ensure a successful campaign. Therefore, he is conducting secret meetings in his personal office in Washington D.C. In his opinion, secrecy is important because these are private meetings and he wants to keep them that way.

He does not want publicity. He has his task cut out and will extend support to only the acceptable nominee. He will check out the performance of his party’s candidates in the November mid-term elections and decide on the strategy of how to win the race to the White House two years from now. He is writing his presidential memoir and is also busy raising funds for his foundation. Officials in the party and major donors want him to take a more public role, but he is not in favor of that. He is into fundraising in his own way.

Barack Obama is treading cautiously

Democrats are already preparing to run for the White House in 2020 and Barack Obama wants to help out his fellow party men. He has already met and discussed the situation with some of them and is acting as a philosopher and guide to the hopefuls.

According to CNN, former President Barack Obama wants to boost the prospects of Democrats in the 2020 bid for the White House. He is trying to unearth talents and feels that new blood must be injected so that the next generation of leaders can come to the limelight. As to the 2018 election, he has focused his attention on fundraising. In May, he did it for Missouri Sen. Claire McCaskill and will do a series of fundraiser events in California this year. He has also planned fundraisers for the San Francisco and Los Angeles areas.
