Religion has remained a huge part of our culture. However, not everyone believes that higher a God Exists. While some don’t care if God exists, others claim to be a staunch atheist that don’t believe in God at all. Although, it is easier to spot some Celebrities thanking God for their success in award shows. Most people would speculate about the political beliefs of stars rather than their religious faith. In fact, most of them would categorize a celebrity’s religious belief as a non-issue. Indeed, there are celebrities out there who have made their faith a part of their public identity, Mel Gibson is one of them.
Without further ado, here are four celebrities that are atheists.
George Clooney
George Clooney is among America's leading actors. He is also a writer, producer, and a director who combines passion and brilliance in ensuring that art echoes beyond the screen. In 1997, Clooney admitted to The Washington Post that he believes in neither heaven nor hell. To confirm on this, he elaborated further in his beliefs in 2006, when he said anybody could believe in anything as long as it doesn’t hurt anybody else, although, for him, beliefs don't exist.
Ani Difranco
Ani Difranco is a Grammy award-winning singer and a songwriter who does not shy away from political opinions. Being an antiwar activist and a feminist, Difranco is so perverse that she founded her label- Righteous Babe Record, at 19 years old.
Unlike others, Ani is not shy to identify herself with atheism. She believes that seeking social justice is the role of a human being and not God.
Chris Rock
Just like many celebrities on this list, Chris Rock is a producer an actor and a comedian. Many believe that Chris is one of the best comedians of all time. Surprisingly, his grandfather was a preacher, and many would have thought that would have influenced Chris.
He believed that a black man that embraces religion is a man with no memory. Through his “The Chris Rock Show,” he attacked beliefs with skeptics that made him look like an atheist.
Morgan Freeman
From my point of view, Morgan Freeman is the most ironic celebrity on this list. Being an actor, he has played God in movies, yet he is an atheist.
One time an interviewer mistakenly assumed that he is a man of God. Freeman quickly responded referring to himself as a man of faith and not God. He further argued that possibility of there being a supreme being is not yet proven, so until then he believes that there is none.
