The latest leak regarding Google’s upcoming Pixel 2 and Pixel Xl 2 smartphones suggests that the devices are going to come sporting regular-sized bezels. This refutes the previous claim that the successors to last year’s Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones might don a bezel-less front panel look. The latest leak can be sourced to Evan Blass (a.k.a. evleaks on Twitter) from VentureBeat.

Smartphone spotted online

Evan Blass apparently took to his official Twitter platform to share a real-life image of the smartphone. The device – which is codenamed Walleye – can be seen carrying basic, standard bezels and an ordinary aspect ratio of 16:9.

While the Pixel 2 is going to be manufactured by HTC, as usual; the Pixel XL 2 is heavily speculated to be manufactured by LG. Previously, leading speculations suggested that the Pixel 2 smartphone might sport a bezel-less display. In fact, Google was also reportedly in talks with HTC in order to integrate the latter’s famous pressure-sensitive frame into the smartphone.

The pressure-sensitive frame technology gained much popularity after it appeared in the HTC U 11 smartphone, which sported front-facing stereo speakers. Google is also apparently planning on integrating its Pixel 2 with front-facing stereo speakers. Apart from this, the search-giant is also apparently planning on ditching the 3.5mm headphone jack, to walk in Apple’s footsteps.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 powered device

As far as the Pixel XL 2 smartphone is concerned, the device is expected to come packed with a slightly larger display. The handset – which is codenamed Taimen – is expected to equip an aspect ratio of 18:9. The smartphone will look very much like LG’s G6, and it makes sense as the XL 2 is speculated to be manufactured by LG this time.

The Pixel XL 2 along with the Pixel 2 smartphones, is expected to sport a dual rear camera setup. Both the smartphones will reportedly be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 system-on-chip, with Adreno 505 GPU for graphics. Google officially confirmed the existence of Pixel 2 and Pixel XL 2 smartphones earlier this year; however, they did not mention any specific launch-date for the same.

Going by tradition, the search-giant might end up introducing these two flagship smartphones by the end of this year, perhaps in the months of either October or November. stay tuned for more updates on technology and entertainment.
