With the return of "Game of Thrones" Season 7 just weeks away, the rumors are flying over what will happen this season. The latest rumor says a major character may die while another character previously thought dead might return.

Who will die this season?

Bustle reported that there were seven reasons that fan favorite Daenerys would die. At the end of Season 1, Ned Stark, a popular character, was executed, and since then, no character has been safe. Two characters have managed to survive and even seemed invincible: Jon Snow and Daenerys. Even when Jon died, fans didn't expect it to be permanent.

With just two seasons left, HBO may decide to wrap up the show in an epic way and deviate from the books.

One theory came from Reddit user mathyoucough who said that Daenerys would finally go crazy like her father. Her father's madness may foreshadow her fate. An article in Polygon drew parallels between Daenerys's speech in Season 6 and her husband Drago's speech in Season 1 Episode 7 where he rallied the troops.

Soon after that, he died. Since Jon has already died and come back to life in Season 6, chances are he won't die again. That doesn't mean that Daenerys is off limits.

The Huffington Post reported that Daenerys finally landed in Westeros. New "Game of Thrones" photos released showed her landing in Westeros for the first time since she fled after the death of her father, the Mad King.

The photo was one of the 17 photos released by HBO to the international community.

The Telegraph UK reported the release of new battle footage of Daenerys. The latest teaser released showed some of the special effects that will be used on "Game of Thrones" in Season 7. She is shown riding a Dragon stand-in during the production of the show.

Special effects crews were also seen setting fire to a battleship, leading to speculation of the battle scenes that may take place.

Who will return this season?

The Express UK reported that more behind the scenes photos were released to tease fans. Included in the mix were pictures of Arya, played by Maisie Williams and the Hound, played by Rory McCann.

Fans also received the first glimpse of Beric Dondarrion, played by Richard Dormer.

Popping in and out of the series, he was last seen during Season 6 traveling north with the Hound. During the first season, he was tasked by Ned Stark to seek justice and help protect the Riverlands. Although he died several times in the books, he continues to be resurrected.

Season 7 returns on July 16 with a 90-minute episode, the longest episode of the series. Previously it was reported that the final season of "Game of Thrones" won't appear until 2019.
