Only a handful of directors in Hollywood have managed to consistently create extraordinary films like Paul Thomas Anderson. The director has become a master class over the years and is responsible for some of the most compelling films of the past two decades. It has now been confirmed that Anderson's next Film will be released by the end of the year, and it will see the director team up with one of his most preferred actors of all-time.

There will be quality

It is shocking to think about the sheer number of extraordinary films that Paul Thomas Anderson has already made so far.

His greatest hits reads like an all-star line-up, boasting of films like “Magnolia”, “Punch Drunk Love”, “The Master” and “There Will Be Blood”. “There Will Be Blood” is widely regarded as one of the best films of the 21st century, and it give us one of the most compelling performances from an actor in a dramatic roll from Daniel Day-Lewis.

The duo created magic in their portrayal of an oil man driven by sheer greed and not much else, and they are set to team up once again for Paul Thomas Anderson's next film.

What to expect

During the recently concluded CinemaCon, Focus Features announced that Anderson’s next film is set to release on December 25, 2017. The release date is hotly contested by other big releases such as “Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle”, “Downsizing” and “The Current War”.

Most of these other releases will however cater to a completely different audience than the one targeted by Anderson. His films are certainly not for a mass audience and will receive a limited release just so that the picture can qualify for award season next year.

We now know that the film will also star Lesley Manville and Vicky Krieps, and will be set in the world of 1050’s London where an compromising dressmaker has been commissioned by the royal family to create something unique. There is no doubt that Paul Thomas Anderson thrives in a period-drama setting, which is why his next film will be such a joy to witness.
