The music industry was in deep shock following the death of Linkin Park vocalist Chester Bennington. He was found dead (hanging) in his house in Palos Verdes on Thursday morning. The day of his death was also the birthday of his longtime friend Chris Cornell (Soundgarden vocalist), who also committed suicide.

But according to Metal Rock News, the suicide spree continued following the death of Chester Bennington. That is because two fans of the titular rock band also decided to end their lives. Here is everything about these devastating events in a nutshell.

Two fans committee suicide

Metal Rock News pointed out that a Facebook page called Linkin Park Fans From All Over The World relayed the tragic news to the publication and general public. Basically, two fans of Linkin Park committed suicide following the death of Bennington. These were Kris and Melissa Mintz, a young man from Finland and a girl, respectively. They reportedly ended their lives, as they were unable to deal with the loss of the vocalist. It is worth noting that Bennington and his band became the voice of a generation, with their albums “Hybrid Theory” and “Meteora.”

Chester Bennington was said to have been battling depression, a mental health issue that has already claimed tons of lives.

Also, his bandmate Mike Shinoda revealed in an interview with Radio.com that Chester was greatly affected by the death of Cornell. The latter was considered one of the closest friends of Bennington. They had, in fact, collaborated on a song previously. Bennington’s death became a wake-up call, as musicians and artists from around the world collectively encouraged people to seek help when battling depression.

Bennington bought a home for his family

In related news, the Linkin Park vocalist, according to Blabbermouth, just bought a home for his family days before committing suicide. Chester Bennington paid a whopping $2.4 million for his Palos Verdes Estates. He bought it some time in June, as a surprise to his family. The four-bathroom, five-bedroom house is located somewhere in the Los Angeles County, just on the edge of the Palos Verdes Peninsula.

The place is said to have one of the lowest crime rates. In fact, in 2014, there were only five “serious, violent crimes.”

With Chester Bennington’s death, Linkin Park had to cancel the remaining dates of their One More Light tour. The singer left behind a wife and six kids. While many were devastated by his loss, some mocked him for committing suicide. They felt that Bennington should have thought of his family. However, depression is a serious issue. It prevents the victim from thinking straight, and often they commit suicide as they think it is
