Tech junkies and MacBook lovers — it's Time To Talk about one of Apple's most acclaimed features, Spotlight search (Command + Space). For those who aren't familiar with the feature, it is the easiest way to search for information and access apps on your MacBook. And, while Spotlight Search has been around for years, it was the arrival of the version OS X Yosemite that gave it access to new sources of information, thus making it more resourceful than ever.
Here are 8 ways to get more from Spotlight Search on the Mac
Check your spelling: Imagine you're writing an essay and you're on a roll!
But wait, in the middle of the essay you get stuck on the right usage of a certain word, a scenario all too relatable. There is nothing more tedious than pulling up the internet browser and losing your momentum. Spotlight Search has solved that issue! With the click of two buttons, the word you are looking to check will appear as a suggestion before you even finish typing it! And, get this, you can get the definition of the word simply by typing "define" next to it, all while avoiding opening the dreadful internet browser.
Sports updates: Catching up on some work? Trying to reach a deadline? Know that if you Google the Knicks game, you're going to end up watching the Knicks game? Spotlight Search will search the score for you without requiring you to leave the documents/websites you are working on!
