Samsung took the wraps off its latest smartwatch, the Gear Fit2 Pro, yesterday, Aug. 30. The new device is designed to be fitness-oriented but will go beyond fitness.

Goals for Gear Fit2 Pro

Samsung Electronics launched its newest band, the Gear Fit2 Pro. It is described as a versatile and sleek fitness-focused smartwatch. Athletes would especially enjoy this IP68 rated water-resistant wearable tracker.

The company’s Mobile Communications Business president DJ Koh shared in a press release that their wearables aim to assist users with different fitness levels in meeting their targets and aspirations. He also justified that their company relies on its significant history of pursuing innovation.

The president bragged that the new smartwatch is designed to help consumers to go beyond fitness. Aside from being a fitness tracker, the new wearable also allows users to bask on their active, fulfilled and balanced life through the intelligence and ease of the new device.

Allows users to go beyond fitness

Furthermore, Koh mentioned that they are aiming to eliminate the stigma that fitness tracking devices are not easy to use. He also emphasized that they produced this new smartwatch to prove that it can function more than just for intense workout support only.

Moreover, the new smartwatch can monitor sleep and nutrition level of the user. It also features motivational coaching for better and healthy lifestyle.

It also functions as a counter for the wearer’s various physical activities. It can count each step and track the total number of steps made by the user, as well as his other movements. It can also tell the wearer of the number of calories burned from his physical activities.

In addition, it has the ability to monitor the heart rate. The new wearable from Samsung tracks the heart rate of the user, continuously throughout the day.

The new smartwatch allows the wearer to enjoy listening to his desired playlist while doing his workout. The device can store up to 500 songs and has access to Spotify. Connectivity is expanded with its Bluetooth connection.

The new Samsung Gear Fit2 Pro also functions to track distances and routes. Users no longer need to carry their heavy smartphone to determine distances and directions.

It also works as a mobile phone. Users can receive and send messages, as well as make and receive calls by connecting the device to his smartphone.

Meanwhile, aside from the Samsung Gear Fit2 Pro, the Korean tech giant also launched its two other siblings, the Gear Sport, and the Gear IconX. All three variants come in stylish designs and colors.
